In the past 20 years, disasters caused more than $2.9 trillion in damages worldwide. Most importantly, hurricanes, earthquakes or disease outbreaks result in the loss of lives and homes, costs that can never be recouped. What if you help one researcher predict the next extreme weather event?

To secure the world’s future food supply, we’ll need to double agricultural production. Lessons learned at UGA, like how to develop disease-resistant crops, can help achieve this and much more. By preventing deadly diseases or controlling the spread of weapons of mass destruction, we can make the world a safer place. You can encourage one more global-minded changemaker.

Ninety-one percent of the world’s plastic isn’t recycled. A UGA faculty member determined that alarming statistic. And our researchers are doing more than uncovering eye-opening numbers of humans’ impact on the environment. They’re discovering ways to secure viable land and waterways in Georgia and around the world. What if you help generate one more sustainable solution?
