UGA Foundation

The University of Georgia Foundation is committed to supporting the university’s mission through fiduciary care of donated assets and financial support of the university’s teaching, research and public service programs.

Programs

The University of Georgia Foundation provides an average of more than $155 million annually to UGA to advance its mission of teaching, research and public service.

Scholarship Programs

  • Premier scholarship programs such as Foundation Fellows and Ramsey Honors.
  • Other merit-based programs such as Charter Scholarships that assist the university in recruiting students who have excelled academically.
  • Need-based programs such as the Georgia Commitment Scholarship and the Completion Grants Program to keep highly at-risk students on track for graduation.

Chairs & Professorships

  • Endowed chairs and professorships allow the university to recruit and retain outstanding faculty; many are established by alumni, individual donors, corporate supporters and foundations.
  • The Athletic Association’s contributions to the foundation have funded several endowed UGA Athletic Association Professorships in support of a variety of academic areas.
  • The foundation allocates discretionary funds to support outstanding faculty through endowed chairs and professorships.

Residential Programs

Washington Semester Program at Delta Hall

Each fall and spring semester, up to 32 University of Georgia students live, work and study in Washington, D.C., through the Washington Semester Program. With the support from the foundation, the program is housed at the UGA in Washington facility, Delta Hall. Learn more →

University of Georgia at Oxford

On the other side of the Atlantic, the foundation has supported the ongoing development of the University of Georgia at Oxford program. Founded in 1989 as a summer study option for a small number of students, Oxford proved to be such a sought-after destination, it was expanded to include spring and summer curriculum in 1994 and to an extensive year-round program in 1999. Center for Undergraduate Research (CURO)

CURO offers University of Georgia undergraduates the opportunity to engage in faculty-mentored research, regardless of discipline, major or GPA—even students in their first year. Learn more →

Student Managed Investment Fund

The Student Managed Investment Fund provides undergraduates with a unique learning experience through portfolio management, security evaluation and a support network. Students have the opportunity to manage an equity portfolio with capital from alumni and the University of Georgia Foundation. Learn more →
