UGA Foundation Emeritus Trustees

A continuing commitment

A Dedicated Group

Continuing to support UGA’s mission through their service

The University of Georgia Foundation Board’s Emeritus Trustees are a dedicated group of former Foundation board members who continue their commitment to the University beyond their term. Building on the momentum of their service, the Emeritus Trustees support UGA’s mission through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteer engagement.

A Shared Passion for UGA

Leveraging experience, generosity and influence

Guided by a shared passion for UGA, they remain vital ambassadors by leveraging their experience, generosity, and influence to advance the institution’s most meaningful initiatives. The Emeritus Trustees stay actively engaged and extend the legacy of their service, carrying forward the values and vision that help inspire UGA’s future.

EMERITUS TRUSTEES INITIATIVES

1. Student Success and Student Life

The university supports holistic student development through housing, wellness, leadership, and engaging programs. Enhancing student life is essential to creating a dynamic campus where all students can thrive academically and socially. Emeritus Trustees can support this initiative by signing up to mentor a student or supporting specific student programs.

How to Get Involved:

2. Innovation District

This initiative fosters partnerships between UGA and businesses to drive research, innovation, and workforce development. The Innovation District on campus is a hub for experiential learning, startups, and corporate collaboration. This hub includes the Office of Business Engagement, Small Business Development Center, Starup Support, the Innovation Gateway, and the Entrepreneurship Program. Emeritus Trustees can support this initiative by connecting students with companies or members of their network, by supporting programmatic needs, or participating in Innovation District events.

How to Get Involved:

3. School of Medicine Fundraising and Advocacy

The planned establishment of a School of Medicine at UGA is a bold step in expanding access to medical education and addressing healthcare disparities in Georgia. Philanthropic support and community advocacy are essential. Emeritus Trustees can support this initiative by building awareness about the need for a medical school at UGA, supporting fundraising efforts, and connecting UGA leaders with potential donors, healthcare professionals, or academic collaborators
