Meet Orlok
Age: Orlok is a 12-year-old Moroccan Uromastyx and self-declared ruler of his terrarium kingdom. He’s been part of our family since he was a tiny, scaly hatchling (having traveled far and wide first class from Washington) —and we’ve been living under his reign ever since.
Nicknames: Known lovingly (and cautiously) as the “Angry Dinosaur,” Orlok enjoys defensive posturing, dramatic wiggling, and silently judging us from his basking rock.
Orlok‘s Favorite Activities: He’s not big on affection, but if you dare remove him from his castle, just know—whatever happens next is on you. A possible tail swipe? Will he poop on you? The options are endless! Despite his perpetual grump, Orlok is an absolute delight to watch, and he is a very loved member of our family… from a safe distance. Long live the king!!
Orlok‘s Favorite Treats: His favorite treat is hibiscus flowers, which he might accept from you if you approach with the proper reverence and humility.

Our internal CVM faculty, staff, and students have voted on their Top 20 – and now we need your help choosing the winner!
