Meet Katniss
Age: Around 2 years old
Nicknames: Katnip, Baby Katniss Pig, Girl on Fire
Katniss’s Favorite Activities: Zoomies across the yard, sunbathing, belly rubs, rooting in her blanket, and greeting every guest with snorts and full-body wiggles. She loves sharing lunch with the donkeys, especially when they drop hay from their feeders into her pasture for her to snack on. Katniss also enjoys a good mud wallow followed by being misted with the hose, and has a thing for shoes (She’s been known to “borrow” a few!) She’s in training to become a therapy pig and takes her job as the sanctuary’s sweetheart very seriously.
Don’t let the name fool you! This “Girl on Fire” is all heart. Whether she’s zooming around the pasture or charming visitors with her sweet snout, Katniss brings joy and sparkle to everyone she meets.

Our internal CVM faculty, staff, and students have voted on their Top 20 – and now we need your help choosing the winner!
