SUPPORT SCHOLASTIC OUTREACH AT GRADY COLLEGE
Picture this.
Each year, thousands of middle and high school students arrive on the campus of UGA, many setting foot on a college campus for the very first time, all united by a shared curiosity and a budding passion for storytelling. Some already know this is their calling, while others are just beginning to discover it.
At the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, we are proud to be a place where those students can learn, grow and imagine what is possible. As part of our commitment to public service and outreach, we provide middle and high school students across Georgia and beyond with the knowledge, skills and resources they need to develop as future communicators.
Through programs like the Summer Media Academy, school visits and Prospective Student Days, students gain hands-on opportunities to learn from Grady faculty and staff, current students and industry professionals. The Georgia Scholastic Press Association (GSPA) organizes conferences, workshops and awards for middle and high school journalists and teachers representing a wide range of scholastic media—broadcasts, literary magazines, newsmagazines, newspapers, news websites and yearbooks.
With your support, we can continue to invest in the next wave of communicators (like Caroline) and the future of student storytelling through Grady college’s scholastic outreach programs.
