Help Save Georgia’s Bees from the Yellow-Legged Hornet

A FRIGHTFUL FUTURE WITHOUT BEES

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE SCHOOL OF ECOLOGY’S NECTAR NIGHTMARE CAMPAIGN! THIS CAMPAIGN HAS COME TO A CLOSE. IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT THIS CAUSE, YOU CAN GIVE HERE: POLLINATOR PROJECT SUPPORT FUND.

Imagine a world without bees—a world where the vibrant buzz of pollinators has been silenced by an eerie, unnatural quiet. This Halloween, the spookiest tale is a bee-free future in our fields, forests and gardens. You can help by supporting bee conservation with a gift to The Pollinator Project!

AN INVADER HAUNTS OUR HIVES

Here in Georgia, the yellow-legged hornet is a threat to our state’s largest industry—agriculture. These spooky invaders arrived in our ports and hover like shadows at hive entrances, snatching bees emerging from their home and leaving devastation behind. One hornet alone can butcher dozens of honeybees in a single day, turning a bustling hive into a ghost town. If left unchecked, this hornet could decimate honeybee and native bee populations in Georgia and beyond. And without bees, we face a future without the sweet taste of Georgia grown peaches, blueberries or watermelons.

YOU CAN BEE THE SOLUTION!

Keep the honeybee horror away this Halloween by supporting The Pollinator Project. Your contribution allows students and faculty to unlock the mysteries of hive health and banish the yellow-legged hornet through nest removal and community outreach.

The Odum School of Ecology has a goal of raising $5,000 to support at least two students working to save our bees by the stroke of midnight on October 31. Each gift adds to the magic of our collective impact. Together, we’ll reach our goal to protect our pollinators and their supernatural role in our ecosystems!

A SWEET TREAT

Gifts of $50 and above will be thanked with a 3oz taste of honey from the UGA Bee Lab!

Thank You to Our Donors
