Roger and Julia Marlowe Swagler Faculty Support Fund
Honoring Two Legacies
The Roger and Julia Marlowe Swagler Faculty Support Fund is a tribute to the late Dr. Roger Swagler, a dedicated educator and advocate for faculty development, and his wife and fellow faculty member Dr. Julia Marlowe Swagler.
Both Roger and Julia’s passion for excellence in teaching and research left an indelible mark on the UGA Department of Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics (FHCE). To honor Roger’s memory and continue his and Julia’s legacies, we seek contributions to establish an endowment that will support faculty growth and advancement.
The purpose of the Roger and Julia Marlowe Swagler Faculty Support Fund is to provide resources for FHCE faculty members. These resources include:
- Professional Development: Funding for workshops, conferences, and seminars that enhance teaching, research, and service.
- Research Support: Grants to facilitate faculty research, including data collection, travel, and publication costs.
- Awards and Recognition: Recognizing outstanding contributions by FHCE faculty through awards and honors.
- Supplies and Materials: Supporting classroom instruction and research activities.
- Travel Opportunities: Enabling faculty to attend academic events and collaborate with peers.
