Every year, Experience UGA hosts over 100 field trips for public elementary, middle and high school students in Athens. As the first to greet these young learners, our ambassadors serve as vital role models, mentors and examples of the transformative power of higher education.

Through this high-impact experiential learning opportunity, Experience UGA Ambassadors grow their own leadership and critical thinking skills. Throughout the academic year, they develop a deeper understanding of the PreK-12 educational landscape, the possibilities of higher education and the profound importance of community service. These immersive field trips take place across the university campus, where departments, labs and colleges open their doors to bring learning to lift in ways a classroom simply can’t replicate.

In its 13-year history, Experience UGA has hosted more than 100,000 Clarke County school children. The program successfully:

• Fosters a sense of excitement about higher education in local students.
• Meets the specific curricular goals of Clarke County schools.
• Provides interactive learning experiences through diverse campus activities.
• Unites the Athens community and the university in a unique co-learning environment.

This year, 40 dedicated Experience UGA Ambassadors are working together to raise funds to offset essential transportation costs. With a collective goal of $5,000, these student leaders aim to ensure that every local student, in every grade, can participate every single year.
