Support Undergraduate Research!

Undergraduate research plays a key role in the experiential learning opportunities offered at the University of Georgia. At the heart of those efforts is the Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities (CURO), housed in the Morehead Honors College. We are proud to be able to serve all undergraduates at UGA through CURO, no matter their major or year in college.

For nearly 800 undergraduates, the annual CURO Symposium offers an opportunity to gain confidence and experience by presenting their research. Additionally, CURO reaches close to 600 students per year through funding opportunities in addition to course credit.

We provide funding through:

  • CURO Research Awards– 500 scholarships of $1,000 each to outstanding undergraduate students across campus to actively participate in faculty-mentored research in any discipline for a semester.
  • Conference Participation Grants- students receive up to $1,500 to cover expenses related to presenting their research at a professional conference in the U.S. which increases their knowledge and networking opportunities.
  • CURO Summer Research Fellowships– $3,000 per student for an intensive, immersive, summer-long faculty-mentored research experience at UGA.
  • CURO Honors Scholarships– $3,000 in funding a year per student that can be renewed for up to four years. All incoming first-year UGA students interested in research in any field may apply.

Your gift to CURO opens doors, changes lives, and creates pathways to greater learning. We would love to partner with you to bring undergraduate research to even more students at the University of Georgia.
