College of Public Health Travel Scholarships for HPB Students
Invest in the Future of Public Health
Public health students are the future stewards of healthier communities. Yet, many of these passionate changemakers face financial barriers that limit their ability to attend vital professional conferences, trainings, and field experiences that can shape their careers. The average cost of travel to a conference is $2,500. These funds will provide four travel scholarships to support students in the Department of Health Promotion & Behavior in the College of Public Health.
What Your Support Will Do
With your investment, HPB students will travel to professional conferences:
- They will have access to leadership opportunities. Many students can not afford to travel for professional development, even when invited to present or participate. This opportunity allows them to accept the leadership role in presenting their work to broad audiences beyond the UGA community.
- This travel can lead to career and academic opportunities, internships, job offers, and graduate school opportunities.
- This can yield an impact on our community when students bring back knowledge and skills that directly benefit Georgia communities and beyond.
Projected Impact
These scholarships will enable students to:
- Present their own work at national professional conferences.
- Participate in real-world public health initiatives.
- Network with professionals and mentors.
Help Us Build the Future
By investing in these scholarships, you’re not just funding travel — you’re fueling leadership, opportunity, and impact in public health.
Your donation by November 14 will support students and show them how much the UGA community cares.
