Invest in Students. Develop the Future.
The future of land development depends on professionals who understand more than just one piece of the process.
The new Land Design & Development Certificate at the University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design will prepare students to approach development with a broader perspective — combining financial, analytical, design and management skills to help create high-quality and well-designed places.
Having just launched this semester, the certificate will give students opportunities to analyze, conceptualize and finalize site designs for the built environment while connecting classroom knowledge to real-world development challenges.
Preparing tomorrow’s development professionals
Successful development requires collaboration across disciplines. That’s why this certificate brings together CED with UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Family and Consumer Sciences, School of Law and Terry College of Business.
Students will gain practical experience and a deeper understanding of the full development process — from acquisition and design through development and management. Through service-learning projects, specialized coursework, workshops, panel discussions and other hands-on experiences, students will be better prepared to work seamlessly across disciplines, just as they will on real-world development teams.
Your investment makes that experience possible.
Your gift will help provide the resources students need to take their education beyond the classroom, including:
- Lecture fees and industry speakers
- Travel and educational experiences
- Panel discussions and workshops
- Student assistantships and internships
- Supplies and other instructional expenses
- Opportunities that encourage the study and application of real estate development and design principles
These experiences don’t just enhance a student’s education — they help build the talent pipeline for the development industry.
An investment in students is an investment in the industry.
Companies and professionals in real estate and development have a direct stake in preparing the next generation of talent. By supporting the Land Design & Development Certificate, you can help students develop the skills and perspective needed to contribute to complex development projects — and help strengthen the pipeline of future professionals who understand the full lifecycle of property development.
Our goal is 50 gifts by midnight on Friday, October 9, 2026. Invest in Students. Develop the Future.
