The Purpose
Franklin College is pleased to launch the FRANKLIN ASCEND PROGRAM to ensure that graduate students have access to the professional training needed to succeed in careers beyond the academy. With funds already secured each year for career exploration across disciplines and professions, we now have an exciting opportunity to amplify that impact through our Giving Challenge. The Board of Advisors has a proud tradition of rallying support, and this challenge is our chance to build on that success while fueling initiatives that set our graduate students up for life-long success.
The Plan
Here’s the plan: if we raise $50,000 together, we’ll unlock a considerable amount for summer stipend funds to support graduate students exploring careers beyond the academy through internships and externships, startup and entrepreneurship activity, professional certifications, artist residencies, domestic and international study away, and other career-building experiences that shape their futures as global leaders. The Franklin ASCEND Program will reimburse students up to $5,000 for career exploration and professional training, thereby making a difference for dozens of students this year.
