Giving Societies

The University of Georgia is fortunate to be supported by many loyal donors whose gifts make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, faculty and staff and in the communities they serve. Giving societies were formed so that we can show our sincerest appreciation to donors who commit to UGA and help our university improve lives everywhere.

Cumulative giving societies

In 2001, UGA established three giving societies to recognize individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations whose cumulative generosity has made a significant impact on our university. UGA’s cumulative giving societies include: the Crystal Arch Society, the Abraham Baldwin Society, and the 1785 Society. These societies recognize donors whose gifts have reached more than $10 million, $5 million, and $1 million, respectively.

Presidents Club

Established in 1973, Presidents Club comprises alumni and friends whose annual support makes an immediate impact at UGA. Presidents Club recognizes donors who give $1,500 or more each fiscal year. Their collective generosity serves as an endorsement of UGA and our commitment to public higher education.

Heritage Society

Heritage Society honors alumni and friends who have made a deferred gift to support the University of Georgia, University of Georgia Foundation, or an affiliated organization. Heritage Society members’ gifts have a substantial impact for years to come and help secure our university’s future.

Third Pillar

Third Pillar recognizes donors who have given in the last three or more consecutive years. Just as the three pillars of the Arch support UGA’s most beloved landmark, Third Pillar’s consistent generosity serves as a foundation for UGA’s continued success.

1961 Club

1961 Club recognizes those donors who are dedicated to undergraduate student success through support of the endowed Black Alumni Scholarship Fund. Named for the year of desegregation at UGA, 1961 Club was established by the UGA Alumni Association Black Alumni Leadership Council in an effort to keep the doors open for students to receive a quality education, no matter their socioeconomic circumstance.

PHILANTHROPY AT WORK SOCIETY

PAW Society recognizes all faculty, staff, and retirees who support UGA with an annual gift. Donors are recognized for going above and beyond in their commitment by working for and giving to the success of the university.
