The Benson-Bertsch Center for International Trade and Security prepares students to address the complex international security challenges of the 21st century. Today, technology export controls are at the forefront of those challenges.

On September 30, 2026, the Center will bring senior U.S. government officials, semiconductor industry executives, university researchers, and trade attorneys to Washington, DC, for the Technology Export Controls Conference. The conference will examine U.S. export control policy and its effects on government, industry, research and legal practice.

Your gift will help UGA Master of International Policy students travel to Washington and attend the conference. Students will:

• Hear from senior U.S. export control officials
• Meet compliance leaders from major technology companies
• Explore careers in export compliance
• See how policy decisions affect day-to-day practice
• Represent UGA in a national policy discussion

What your gift covers

Help us send seven students to Washington, DC. At an estimated cost of $600 per student, our goal is $4,200.

• $125—helps cover one student’s meals
• $175—helps cover one student’s lodging in Washington
• $300—helps cover one student’s round-trip travel from Athens
• $600—sponsors one student’s trip
• $4,200—sponsors all seven students
