Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Governor’s Teaching Fellows Program

From 1995 to 2026 and Beyond

Honoring 30 Years of Elevating Teaching and Learning in Georgia

For over 30 years, the Governor’s Teaching Fellows Program has elevated teaching and learning in higher education classrooms across the state of Georgia. The program gives fellows the time and structure to explore innovative pedagogies like AI tools and effective course design — equipping them with the skills to drive meaningful change at their home institutions.

Over 750 fellows from 65 institutions have benefited from the program, reaching over 35,000 students annually.

The Governor’s Teaching Fellows Program is hosted by the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia, nationally and internationally known for its cutting-edge research, outstanding graduate programs, and significant public service and outreach programs. GTF is the institute’s oldest and most significant outreach program impacting faculty throughout Georgia.

30 Gifts for Real Impact

Fuel the next generation of changemakers with a gift in any amount today. We are seeking 30 donations to celebrate 30 years of impact and over 20 years of service by Dr. Cynthia Alby, the program’s lead instructor. Every contribution supports current and past Governor’s Teaching Fellows.

A Donation of …

$50 — provides program materials for fellows
$100 — supplies the program with teaching materials
$250 — puts a book in the hands of each fellow for the GTF Book Club
$500 — purchases hardcover books for our GTF Lending Library so fellows have access to the latest scholarship on teaching and learning
$1,500 — adds one fellow to the Intensive May Symposium
$3,000 — adds one fellow to the academic-year program

Please donate to keep the momentum going for the next 30 years!
