Keep the Sun Shining for the Sunshine Fund

Help Support UGA Students in Need

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO THE SUNSHINE FUND! THIS CAMPAIGN HAS COME TO A CLOSE. IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT THIS CAUSE, YOU CAN GIVE HERE: SUNSHINE FUND.

The University of Georgia spring break holiday is rapidly approaching! While many students are gearing up for new adventures and travel time, dozens of others will seek financial and well-being assistance to get them through the week.

The need for student health and well-being services is at an all-time high, with nearly 1/3 of UGA’s student population seeking assistance. Just as you would treat a cold to prevent it from becoming pneumonia, the Student Care and Outreach Sunshine Fund enables UGA’s Office of Student Care and Outreach to proactively address diverse and nuanced student needs before they escalate into more serious situations.

$10,000 will provide enough funding to support our students for one week. Can we count on you to help us help our Bulldogs in need?

The Sunshine Fund was created by UGA parents in 2020 to support the mental well-being of UGA students. Money from the Sunshine Fund is awarded to students to assist them in paying for mental health services and/or to mitigate circumstances that may be negatively impacting their well-being. Our students’ top five needs are mental health care, rent and living expenses, medical bills, food, and school-related costs.

Gifts made to this campaign will also count towards early giving for the fourth annual Dawg Day of Giving — UGA’s 24-hour day of giving where Bulldogs around the world come together to help UGA build a better tomorrow for our community, our state and our world.
