UGA emerges victorious against Ole Miss in Beat Week 2025

Beat Week 2025 was a thrilling showdown between the University of Georgia and the University of Mississippi, as alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends from both schools rallied in a week-long giving challenge. The result was a banner moment for philanthropy with Bulldog Nation raising over $2.7 million for student support.

During Beat Week, UGA takes on another university in a competition to see who can inspire the most gifts in support of donor-supported initiatives that impact students. After a tough competition, UGA came out on top, bringing Georgia’s record in Beat Week challenges to an impressive 5-1.

By the numbers:

3,565 gifts supported more than 437 funds at UGA, including:

  • 87 scholarship funds, 12 of which were alumni chapter scholarship funds.
  • 29 student support funds.
  • 12 student emergency funds.
  • 11 study abroad/study away funds.
  • 7 experiential learning funds.

One of the UGA programs supported by the generosity of Beat Week donors this year was the Student Care and Outreach Sunshine Fund, which is awarded to students to assist them in paying for mental health services and/or to mitigate circumstances that may be negatively impacting their well-being.

Once again, UGA donors have shown that no one rallies quite like the Bulldog Nation. Thank you to each and every donor who contributed to the UGA community during Beat Week 2025.  Your generosity remains a cornerstone in UGA’s ability to enhance the student experience, fuel research breakthroughs, and serve the state of Georgia and beyond for years to come.
