October 2018 Issue
Thank you to the more than 900 President Club members who attended the 2018 Presidents Club Reception on September 28. To those who were unable to attend, we hope you will enjoy this video, which debuted at the event.
This video demonstrates the far-reaching impact of the Commit to Georgia Campaign, featuring the students, faculty, staff and communities across Georgia and the globe who have benefited from the generosity of donors like you.
Please also enjoy photos from the evening.
Donor Impact
Enhancing the learning environment is a key component of the Commit to Georgia Campaign, and the partnership between Delta and the University of Georgia that created Delta Hall in Washington, D.C., has done just that, setting the stage for stories like Tahira Allen’s.
Tahira’s goal was to work in Washington, D.C., but without connections, without knowledge of the city, she didn’t know where to begin. Delta Hall—a place for UGA students to live and learn while in Washington—became the bridge she needed to move directly from Athens to D.C. and into the career she dreamed of.
Tahira describes her time in Delta Hall as life-changing. Watch this video to find out why.
Sam Tingle could have gone to college nearly anywhere, but it was UGA’s prestigious Foundation Fellowship that brought him to Athens. Since then, every opportunity afforded him by that scholarship has validated his choice.
Sam has traveled to England, Greece and Vietnam. He’s worked for NASA, the United Nations and the Centers for Disease Control. And that only scratches the surface of his UGA experience.
See more on everything that Sam’s scholarship made possible by watching this video.

Why I Give
“The University of Georgia gave me the foundation to achieve the success in life I’ve experienced. We give to the University of Georgia so that others can have the same experience of an outstanding academic environment that prepares them for a fulfilling life, the ability to compete on a global stage and make friendships that last a lifetime.”
