Zeta Psi Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

55 YEARS OF SISTERHOOD, SCHOLARSHIP, SERVICE AND SOCIAL ACTION

Celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Zeta Psi Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., we are partnering with Sorors Initiated Through Zeta Psi (SITZY) for a 12-month giving campaign to benefit the University of Georgia!

Thanks to your support, our 50th Anniversary fundraising campaign exceeded all expectations! Together, we raised $142,886 to establish two endowed, need-based Fortitude 1969 Scholarships. To date, we have awarded four scholarships and recipients get to keep their scholarship for all four years. Your generosity is making a real difference on campus. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey!

Contributions leave a lasting impact on the hearts of donors and the lives of future generations. Through our collective giving for our 55th anniversary, we aim to leave tangible “marks” across the University of Georgia’s campus, highlighting the significant role that Zeta Psi and SITZY play in the university’s culture and legacy.

Both individual and matching gifts will be recognized on our honor roll.

The 55th anniversary campaign will garner two campus naming opportunities:

  • Naming a prominent communal space in the renovated Holmes-Hunter academic building
  • Naming a conference room in the Tate Student Center

In addition to the naming opportunities, our $500,000 fundraising goal will include:

  • $200,000 – The creation of the Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship Endowment, one of the largest within UGA Greek Life, will provide multiple impactful scholarships to support undergraduate members. It’s creation will inspire a culture of philanthropy for a lasting legacy.
  • $100,000 – Establish the first-ever endowment for the Institute of African American Studies. This initiative will create a fund to enhance educational experiences for students, faculty, and the community.
  • $100,000 – Support the endowed chaired faculty position in the Institute for Women’s Studies, aiding in the attraction and retention of an outstanding professor in this field.
  • $50,000 – Support the Student Affairs Fund that aids in enhancing programs, and providing enriching learning opportunities for students.
  • $40,000 – Support the Tate Student Center Staff Scholarship Fund to enhance leadership development and scholarship opportunities for Tate student workers.
  • $10,000 – Funding for furnishing and branding the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Conference Room in the Tate Student Center.

Does your employer match gifts to UGA?

As a benefit to employees, many companies offer to match gifts to UGA. Most corporations award a 1:1 match, while some elect to provide a greater matching amount to further promote their employees’ philanthropy. Companies will typically match a gift up to a year after it’s made, and some will even match gifts made by spouses. Click here to learn more about UGA’s Matching Gift Program.

Recognition opportunities

Presidents Club – The Presidents Club recognizes donors who give $1,500 or more each fiscal year. Their collective generosity serves as an endorsement of UGA and our commitment to public higher education.

Third Pillar – Recognizes donors who have given in the last three or more consecutive years. Just as the three pillars of the Arch support UGA’s most beloved landmark, Third Pillar’s consistent generosity serves as a foundation for UGA’s continued success.

Heritage Society – The Heritage Society honors alumni and friends who have made a deferred gift to support the University of Georgia Foundation. These members’ gifts have a substantial impact for years to come and help secure our university’s future.
