UGA Sustainability Certificate

The University of Georgia is committed to developing the next generation of leaders in emerging fields, and the workforce is calling for leaders in sustainability. The Sustainability Certificate answers the call by training students of all majors to address cross-sector challenges such as climate change, resource management, biodiversity loss, healthcare and social inequities. Students leverage the depth of their primary degree with a broad sustainability framework applicable to careers in social, economic and ecological sustainability. Students pursue rigorous coursework and experiential learning, and final capstone projects pair them with external partners to solve sustainability challenges together, making an immediate difference and preparing our students for successful careers.

Scholarships

The Sustainability Certificate can cost an estimated $10,000 to complete. Financial barriers are a reality and prevent students from taking full advantage of the certificate’s time-intensive capstone projects and additional classes. This extra time may extend their graduation date or limit their ability to secure a part-time job, making the experiential learning component of the program just out-of-reach. Scholarships ranging from just $1,000 to $3,000 minimize barriers that limit students from preparing for high-impact careers in sustainability.

Help us reach our first $5,000 annual goal to begin offering scholarships that make sustainability training accessible for all UGA students!
