Support the Future of Art Education in Georgia

Your gift creates lasting masterpieces

Since 2019, the University of Georgia’s Art Education program has supported early-career alumni through a mentorship initiative designed to increase teacher retention and build a strong, connected alumni network. Now, we’re growing that vision through the Teacher Inquiry Group (TIG) — a yearly program for UGA Art Education graduates in their first 1–3 years of teaching in rural and Metro Atlanta schools.

Led by an Associate Professor and two experienced alumni mentors, the TIG offers:

  • Content-specific professional learning
  • Support navigating today’s educational landscape
  • Opportunities for reflection, collaboration, and inquiry-based teaching
  • Community-building across school districts and career stages
  • This innovative program positions teachers as researchers, helping them develop sustainable practices that improve classroom learning and increase career longevity.
  • Your support helps fund:
  • Stipends and resources for mentors and mentees
  • Events connecting current students and alumni
  • Opportunities for teachers to share their work statewide

By investing in the TIG, you’re strengthening art education across Georgia, ensuring that creative, committed art teachers thrive in the classroom and beyond.
