Bulldogs contribute over 13,000 gifts in 24 hours
Dawg Day of Giving earned more than $8 million for UGA.
The fifth annual Dawg Day of Giving once again demonstrated the strength and generosity of the Bulldog Nation, bringing in more than 13,000 gifts to support University of Georgia students and programs. This year’s total set a new single‑day giving record for the university.
The 24‑hour campaign on March 26 aimed for 12,000 gifts and surpassed that goal around 10:30 p.m. EDT, continuing the event’s streak of record‑breaking participation.
“Each year, Dawg Day of Giving highlights what the UGA community can accomplish when we unite behind a common goal,” said President Jere W. Morehead. “I am incredibly grateful to each and every person who contributed to these record-setting efforts, and I look forward to seeing the countless ways your generosity will positively impact our campus for generations to come.”
In total, the 13,094 gifts contributed a combined $8.5 million directed to areas across UGA. Every one of the university’s 20 schools and colleges — along with numerous departments, programs and initiatives — received support from donors.

Activities across campus energized Dawg Day of Giving efforts.
“Seeing students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the university rally together on one day to support UGA is a testament to the strength of the Bulldog community, both on campus and across the globe,” said John Neely, UGA Student Government Association president. “As SGA President, it is incredible to see how passionate Bulldogs are about supporting our students.” Bulldogs across the country and around the world rallied for Dawg Day of Giving. President Morehead and head football coach Kirby Smart were among the alumni who helped amplify the call to give.
“Dawg Day of Giving truly brings our global Bulldog community together,” said Jill S. Walton, UGA vice president for development and alumni relations. “The response this year was extraordinary. The commitment of Bulldog Nation pushes us to aim higher and achieve more, and their generosity makes that possible.”

Students, alumni and friends of UGA contributed more than $8 million to the university.
Giving challenges energized the day, unlocking more than $142,000 in additional funds when donors met specific goals. Some challenges rewarded participation during certain hours, others boosted support for individual schools and colleges, and one challenge provided bonus funding to the student organizations that received the most gifts. Student participation remained a highlight this year, as students rallied throughout the day to contribute to the overall success of the day.
